It All Comes Together for 8th-grade Students at Open Classroom

At the end of the school year and over summer, Open Classroom students going into eighth grade have to investigate and prepare for their eighth-grade project. Their eighth-grade projects are something that they are passionate about and willing to work towards for the duration of the school year.

There are four components to the eighth-grade project. They are passion, knowledge, learning, and creation. In May, the eighth-grade students present their project to the school. This can include a slideshow, a blog, or other things that they have made. This past year some of the projects students made were bow and arrows, a computer, computer programs, hang glider, long boards, motorized scooter, recipe blog, a wake board, and many other things.
