At Uintah Elementary School, students were already performing well in many areas. However, the most recent results show that the district is focusing on helping all students. Uintah displayed increased proficiency in language arts for all students, Hispanic students, and economically disadvantaged students.

At Emerson Elementary School, there is solid improvement in math for all students, economically disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities.

Newman Elementary School continued its upward trend with strong results, especially in language arts scores for economically disadvantaged students, limited English proficiency students, and student with disabilities.

Hillside Middle School showed encouraging results in math scores for Hispanic students, economically disadvantaged students, limited English proficiency students, and student with disabilities.

Glendale Middle School and Northwest Middle School are recipients of federal School Improvement Grants. As theses grants have been implemented, there has been an increased focus on core subjects, more time in school, and more time spent on studying these core subjects. The results have been outstanding! The following two graphs compare 2010 and 2011 math CRT proficiency scores for both schools. While all the increases are fantastic, you will notice that some student groups have seen increases near 40 percent. Congratulations to the students, parents, staff, teachers, and administrators at these two schools!
