We appreciate your interest in employment with the Salt Lake City School District. When you submit your application for positions, there may be application materials required for the position in addition to the application itself. We will not consider you for employment opportunities until all application materials are submitted.
We do not accept unsolicited applications. In general, applications in response to on-going openings remain active for 90 days. Applications for specific openings remain active until the position is filled. Once your application materials become inactive, you will need to re-apply to be considered for future openings.
The district participates in the federal E-Verify program to determine work eligibility. All new hires must have valid work eligibility documentation. The Salt Lake City School District does not sponsor foreign applicants.
Upon hire, all new district employees are required to complete a background check as a condition of employment. Unless a new employee has completed a background check through the Utah State Office of Education within 12 months of the date of hire, he or she must complete a background check through the district.
Pursuant to Utah law, criminal convictions (midemeanors and felonies) as well as pending citations, arrests and pleas in abeyance will be reviewed carefully to determine suitability for employment in our district.
Some positions are subject to drug testing due to the nature of their position. Sample positions include but are not limited to School Bus Driver, Maintenance and Grounds positions, Custodial positions, Child Nutrition positions, etc. Successful candidates in these positions must undergo drug testing after they have been offered a job with the district, and must pass the drug test before being hired.
