Summer Kindergarten Readiness
The Salt Lake City School District's Summer Kindergarten Readiness Program is an excellent opportunity for your child to prepare for Kindergarten and learn to develop skills for success in school-related activities. Goals of the program are to assist your child in achieving academic readiness, developing age-appropriate social skills, promoting self-help skills, and enhancing creativity. The program operates from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for 20 school days.
This program is tuition-based ($50.00 total per child) and enrollment is limited. Participants must be five years old by September 1 of the current year.
Summer 2017- Kindergarten Readiness Program
Held four days a week (Monday-Thursday), 4 hours per day, starting June 12 and ending July 13, 2017.
Locations: Backman Elementary, Bennion Elementary, Glendale-Mountain View Community Learning Center, and North Star Elementary
Students must be five-years-old by September 1, 2017 to qualify for Summer Kindergarten Readiness.
Your child may participate in the school breakfast and lunch programs. Parents are responsible for their child’s supervision during breakfast. Instructors will be responsible for lunch supervision.
Disclosure: The Early Childhood Department reserves the right to cancel a class due to lack of enrollment.
To participate your child must:
- Be able to remain engaged in educational activities for 20 minutes blocks of time throughout the session.
- Be able to follow directions
- Be toilet trained.
When: Registration starting on April 20, 2017 for $50.00. After May 29 the cost is $60. Tuition is non-refundable.
