Communications and Community Relations

The Communications and Community Relations Department exists to build public understanding and support for schools in the Salt Lake City School District. It is responsible for maintaining internal and external communications for the district by publishing press releases, annual reports, internal and external newsletters, and answering inquiries from the public. It also serves as the liaison between the district, the community, and the media and assists in coordinating media coverage of the educational process in Salt Lake City schools.

District News and Information

Unless it involves crime or politics, traditional news media coverage of local education issues is almost non-existent. To help compensate for this, the district has established an army or PR Liaisons. These are teachers at each school who write articles about the fun things going on in their schools. These articles and accompanying pictures are posted on this website's homepage. Once they are moved off the homepage, the articles and pictures are still available in our news archive.

Additionally, the district uses social media to reach our community and to promote the good things happening in our schools. You can follow the district on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
